exciting one-run game at Dodger Stadium. The final score was the Los
Angeles(NL) Dodgers 4, the St. Louis Cardinals 3.
Los Angeles(NL) tallied 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning when they had 3
base hits. The key at-bat was by Cody Bellinger who elicited a roar from the
hometown fans when he smashed a two-run homer. St. Louis tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Clayton Kershaw(1-1) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Kershaw was
helped out by Kenley Jansen who recorded his 2nd save. The loss was charged

Max Scherzer retired 10 batters on strikeouts and Anthony Rendon had 3 base
hits and 2 RBI as the Washington Nationals topped the Colorado Rockies by a
score of 3 to 2 at Coors Field.
Scherzer(1-0) had a strong outing. He surrendered only 3 hits and 4 walks in
8 and 2/3 innings reducing his ERA from 3.38 to 2.16. Colorado had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.
Scherzer got help from Sean Doolittle who earned his 1st save. Tyler
Anderson(0-1) ended up with the loss. 'I had my good stuff today.' Scherzer
said. 'As the game went along I started to get the feeling that I was going
to strike out a bunch of hitters.'
