Chicago (NL) Cubs by the score of 6 to 0 at Tropicana Field.
Chicago (NL) fell behind quickly as the Tampa Bay offense came through in the
first inning when they tallied 2 runs on 1 hit. The early run support proved
sufficient for Alex Cobb(14-11) and Tampa Bay. That was all the run support
Cobb required. For the game Tampa Bay out-hit Chicago (NL) 12 to 5.
Whitley recorded his 3rd save. Mike Montgomery(11-12) suffered the loss. He

First baseman Justin Smoak hit 2 doubles as the Toronto Blue Jays topped the
Kansas City Royals in 21 innings by a score of 4 to 3 at Rogers Centre.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Toronto was victorious
in the 21st inning. After an out was recorded, Smoak kicked off the action
when he drew a walk. Devon Travis next to the plate and he blasted a two-run
home run giving Toronto the win as 16,270 happy fans joyfully celebrated.
Toronto had 15 hits overall, while Kansas City had 12.
Cesar Valdez(2-4) allowed 1 run in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Ryan Buchter(3-4) suffered the loss in relief. He allowed 2 runs
