The Milwaukee Brewers cruised to a 9 to 4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at
Great American Bpk.
Cincinnati was unable to climb back into it after Milwaukee went ahead for
good in the 3rd inning plating 3 runs utilizing 3 base hits. After an out
was recorded, Neil Walker started the scoring when he clubbed a solo home
run. Ryan Braun followed next and he smacked a single. Travis Shaw was next
to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Domingo Santana was up next and he
blasted a two-run home run. Although they lost, Cincinnati did out-hit
Milwaukee 11 to 8.
Zach Davies(8-7) went 5 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Luis
Castillo(19-8) was the loser. With this win, Milwaukee has a 69-71 record.
They have been 5-5 lately. Cincinnati has a record of 68-72 after the loss.

Third baseman Yunel Escobar had 2 base hits as the Los Angeles(AL) Angels
defeated the Oakland Athletics in 13 innings by a score of 6 to 4 at Oakland
Coliseum.
Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Los
Angeles(AL) pulled the game out in the 13th inning. After an out was
recorded, Albert Pujols was the sparkplug when he drew a walk. After another
out, C.J. Cron came to the plate and bombed a two-run dinger. Oakland went
down without a fight in the bottom of the 13th.
The victory went to Yusmeiro Petit(12-5) who went 3 and 1/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Chris Hatcher(2-4) took the loss in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 2
hits in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Jake Faria carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Tampa Bay Rays
outscored the Minnesota Twins 4 to 1.
Faria(16-10) earned his pay with a solid performance for Tampa Bay. He
surrendered 3 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings. The right-handed Faria had his
no-hit bid broken up by Joe Mauer who singled with two outs in the 6th
inning. Minnesota was out-hit by Tampa Bay, 10 hits to 4.
Alex Colome preserved the game for Faria, recording his his 37th save. The
loss was charged to Adalberto Mejia(8-11). He was hit hard and gave up 7
hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
