Left fielder Michael Brantley cracked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Corey
Kluber whiffed 12 batters at Guaranteed Rate Fld as the Cleveland Indians,
running on all cylinders, ripped the Chicago (AL) White Sox by a large 15 to
1 margin.
Brantley had a big day with his bat. He ripped a single in the 1st inning,
lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 2nd inning, smashed a solo-shot out of
the park in the 6th inning and doubled bringing in two baserunners in the 7th
inning. Cleveland provided plenty of action in the 2nd inning when they had
5 runs on 4 hits. The Cleveland offense man-handled the Chicago (AL)
pitching staff as they scored in 7 of the 9 innings.
Kluber(21-4) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Reynaldo Lopez(5-17)
took the loss. He surrendered 5 hits and 2 walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
'Our guys just weren't seeing the ball today.' Rick Renteria said. 'Kluber
simply dominated us.'

In the 2nd inning Cincinnati scored 2 runs. That was all the offense they

Buster Posey had 2 base hits as the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado
Rockies by a score of 3 to 1.
Colorado lost it in the 8th inning when San Francisco did all their damage
scoring 3 runs on 3 hits. Denard Span started the inning off right when he
laced a single. One out later, Brandon Belt got his chance to keep things
going, but he went down on strikes. Posey then slapped a base-hit. Brandon
Crawford stepped in and he lost the ball over the fence for three runs. The
game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
Albert Suarez(3-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Mark Melancon earned his 19th save. Jake McGee(7-4) was tagged with
the loss in relief.
