Right fielder Jason Heyward smacked a grand slam at Wrigley Field as the
smoking-hot Chicago (NL) Cubs won in their last at-bat beating the Atlanta
Braves by the count of 10 to 9.
The game was won by Chicago (NL) with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
After two were out Willson Contreras delivered a solo blast giving Chicago
(NL) the win as 38,381 happy fans joyfully celebrated. Chicago (NL) rapped
out 12 hits for the afternoon.
Brian Duensing(5-3) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the win. Jason
Motte(2-5) took the loss in relief.

The indomitable St. Louis Cardinals got by the San Francisco Giants at AT&T
Park. The final score was 4 to 2.
St. Louis had 2 runs cross the plate in the 6th inning. The biggest moment
was provided by Kolten Wong who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd
when he doubled bringing in two baserunners. St. Louis managed 8 hits in
their victory.
The winning pitcher was Lance Lynn(11-9) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings.
Tyler Lyons got the save, his 4th. Chris Stratton(7-10) was the losing
pitcher. He surrendered 3 runs and 5 hits in 5 and 2/3 innings.
'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Lynn said,
'this was one of those times.'

Center fielder Adam Jones had 2 base hits as the Baltimore Orioles defeated
the Toronto Blue Jays 6 to 4 at Camden Yards.
Dylan Bundy(10-14) got the win despite looking shaky at times. He gave up 4
runs in 5 and 1/3 innings and surrendered 2 homeruns. Both teams ended up
with 10 hits on the night.
Zach Britton was credited with his 14th save. Joe Biagini(5-7) ended up with
