Center fielder Charlie Blackmon jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI
as the Colorado Rockies defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks by the score of 8
to 6 at Coors Field.
In the bottom of the 2nd inning Colorado went on top for good when they came
up with 3 runs on 3 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Blackmon who
made the crowd come alive when he lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run. Colorado finished with 12 hits in the victory.
German Marquez(12-8) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Greg Holland
gained credit for his 36th save. Randall Delgado(9-6) was given the loss.
He was unable to control the Colorado offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks
in 3 and 2/3 innings.

Carlos Carrasco racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts and Francisco
Lindor blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the indomitable Cleveland Indians
outscored the awful Detroit Tigers in 15 innings 4 to 2.
Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Cleveland came out
the victor in the 15th inning. After two outs Yan Gomes opened up the rally
as he drew a walk. Carlos Santana next to the plate and he drew a walk.
Lindor then doubled which was good for two runs. Cleveland managed 7 hits in
their victory.
The win went to Andrew Miller(11-2) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Cody Allen earned his 40th save. Shane Greene(0-5) was the loser in relief.

Ken Giles closed the door on New York (NL) as the powerful Houston Astros
bested the New York (NL) Mets 8 to 5 at Minute Maid Park.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by George Springer. He ripped a base-hit in the 1st inning, doubled
which brought home a run in the 4th inning and clubbed a three-run home run
in the 6th inning. Tyler Clippard(5-2) was helped out by Giles who pitched a
perfect ninth and recorded his 30th save.
Robert Gsellman(6-14) absorbed the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 11
hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.
