Nelson Cruz went deep and had 2 RBI at Camden Yards where the Seattle Mariners
beat the woeful Baltimore Orioles by the score of 8 to 6.
Seattle came up with the deciding runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. Cruz got things going when he laced a base-knock.
After an out was recorded, Yonder Alonso stepped up to the plate and he
doubled. Mitch Haniger then was walked intentionally to load the bases.
Danny Valencia was up next and he drew a walk bringing in a run. Mike Zunino
followed, but he was set down on strikes. Jean Segura added to the rally and
drew a walk scoring the final run of the inning. For the game Seattle
out-hit Baltimore 13 to 8.
Edwin Diaz(2-3) got the win allowing 1 run in 1 and 2/3 innings. Chris
Tillman(0-2) took the loss in relief. Seattle now has a record of 67-67.
Not able to get much going in recent weeks, Baltimore is 2-8 of late and now
has an overall record of 45-88, worst in the division.

Shortstop Trevor Story lofted one into the 'cheap seats' at Coors Field as the
dreadful Detroit Tigers lost a heartbreaker to Colorado Rockies by the score
of 4 to 3.
The game was won by Colorado with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
After an out was recorded, Charlie Blackmon smacked a single. Blackmon
swiped second base. D.J. Lemahieu then stroked a base-hit making Colorado
the winners and sending the 41,471 fans home happy. Colorado out-hit Detroit
for the game, 13 hits to 8.
The victory went to Chris Rusin(4-2) who went 1 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
runs. The losing pitcher was Chad Bell(1-7) in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an
inning and surrendered 2 hits and no walks.

Dexter Fowler had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals topped the
Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 10 to 7 at Miller Park.
Fowler led the offense for St. Louis. He doubled plating two runs in the 1st
inning, ripped a base-hit in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 6th inning and
delivered a solo blast in the 7th inning. St. Louis kept the pressure on
throughout the contest as they scored in 6 different innings.
The win went to Tyler Lyons(11-3) who allowed no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings.
John Brebbia was credited with his 1st save. Oliver Drake(2-3) was the
