In a close game it was the incredible Boston Red Sox 4, the Baltimore Orioles
2 at Fenway Park.
Baltimore was unable to claim the lead after Boston went ahead in the bottom
of the 7th inning scoring a single run on 2 base hits. Boston banged out 7
hits on the afternoon.
David Price(13-10) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Price
got help from Craig Kimbrel who was credited with his 46th save. Kevin
Gausman(11-17) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 5 hits and 4 walks in 6
and 2/3 innings.

Khris Davis had 2 base hits at Oakland Coliseum as the Oakland Athletics beat
the Texas Rangers by the count of 2 to 1.
Oakland tallied 1 run in the bottom of the 5th inning. Oakland rapped out 9
hits for the afternoon. Paul Blackburn(6-12) got the win allowing 1 run in 6
and 1/3 innings. Blackburn got relief help from Santiago Casilla who gained
credit for his 10th save. Martin Perez(9-8) absorbed the loss. He pitched 8

Rogers Centre.
Toronto set the tone of the game in the first inning as they scored 3 runs on
2 base hits. The early run support proved sufficient for J.A. Happ(14-8) and
Toronto. That was all the run support Happ required. Toronto had a total of
7 hits for the game.
Roberto Osuna got the save, his 35th. Ervin Santana(14-9) was given the loss.

The seemingly unstoppable Washington Nationals registered 4 runs in the 7th
inning and and the New York (NL) Mets locked up in an exciting one-run game
at Nationals Park. The final score was the seemingly unstoppable Washington
Nationals 6, the New York (NL) Mets 5.
The game was decided in the bottom of the 8th inning. Daniel Murphy lashed a
single. Anthony Rendon followed next and he laced a base-knock. Matt
Wieters then drew a walk to load the bases. Michael Taylor was up next and
he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Washington managed 9 hits in their
victory.
Matt Albers(6-3) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Sean
Doolittle earned the save, his 27th. Hansel Robles(0-3) was the loser in
relief. He pitched 1 inning allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.
No one has been able to stop Washington lately as they lengthened their
winning streak to 7 games.
