Jose Bautista slammed a homerun and Marco Estrada racked up an impressive
total of 11 strikeouts as the Toronto Blue Jays bested the Chicago (NL) Cubs
in 12 innings 2 to 1 at Wrigley Field.
Both teams had scored 1 runs after nine full innings. Toronto won it in the
12th inning. After an out was recorded, Bautista lofted a solo-blast
'downtown'. Toronto rapped out 7 hits for the afternoon.
The winning pitcher was Dominic Leone(7-1) who allowed no runs in 1 inning.
Ryan Tepera got the save, his 2nd. The losing pitcher was Pedro Strop(3-3)
in relief.

The Cincinnati Reds were able to stop their 6 game losing streak and easily
topped the Atlanta Braves; the final score was 8 to 3.
Scott Feldman(11-5) pitched a solid game. He surrendered 7 hits and 3 walks
in 8 and 1/3 innings. Feldman whiffed an impressive total of 9 Atlanta
batters. Cincinnati had 11 hits for the night while Atlanta had 8.
Sean Newcomb(7-10) ended up with the loss. 'Wow. That's about all I can
think to say.' said Bryan Price following the victory. 'If ever a team
needed a win, it was us.'

Justin Upton ripped 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the Los Angeles(AL)
Angels beat the Baltimore Orioles in 11 innings by a score of 4 to 2.
The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Los Angeles(AL) came out on
top in the 11th inning. Mike Trout led off the inning for Los Angeles(AL)
when he drew a walk. Upton stepped up next and he doubled. Donnie Hart then
bounced one in the dirt for a wild pitch resulting in a run. Hart then let
loose a wild pitch scoring the final run of the inning. Baltimore was set
down quietly in the bottom of the 11th.
The victory was credited to Yusmeiro Petit(10-4) who went 3 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Darren O'Day(3-4) was the loser in relief. He gave up 2
runs and 1 hit in 1/3 of an inning.
