Mike Montgomery came through with a solid 8 innings as the Chicago (NL) Cubs
topped the struggling Cincinnati Reds by a score of 3 to 2 at Wrigley
Field.
The game was decided in the bottom of the 8th inning. Kris Bryant drew a
walk. After an out was recorded, Ben Zobrist came to the plate and stroked a
base-hit. Kyle Schwarber then hit a deep fly scoring the run. Chicago (NL)
had 5 hits overall, while Cincinnati had 2.
The victory was credited to Montgomery(9-10) who went 8 innings, allowing 2
runs. Wade Davis preserved the game for Montgomery, recording his his 38th
save. Michael Lorenzen(3-6) suffered the loss in relief. He allowed 1 hit
and 1 walk in 1 inning.
The winning ways continue for Chicago (NL). They now have a record of 8-2 in
recent days. With the loss, the Cincinnati ballclub's record is 61-61.

Shortstop Trevor Story rocketed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Greg Holland was
great in relief as the Colorado Rockies defeated the Atlanta Braves 10 to 5
at Coors Field.
Story enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He smashed a two-run homer in the 2nd
inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 6th inning. Colorado won
despite being out-hit by Atlanta 15 hits to 10.
Adam Ottavino(2-1) went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the win.
Holland recorded the save, his 29th. R.A. Dickey(5-7) was given the loss.
Colorado scored big getting 7 runs off him in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Shortstop Carlos Correa jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI as the
impressive Houston Astros defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks by a score of 11
to 2 at Minute Maid Park.
Houston wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning plating an
isolated run. Houston dominated offensively as they scored in 6 different
innings.
Brad Peacock(13-6) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Zack
