Second baseman Whit Merrifield had 2 base hits at Camden Yards where the
Kansas City Royals beat the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 4 to 3.
Kansas City claimed the early lead in the first inning as they scored 2 runs
on 4 base hits. The Baltimore bats were silent in the bottom of the 9th.
The win was credited to Danny Duffy(11-7) who went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing
3 runs. Mike Minor recorded the save, his 8th. Alec Asher(2-8) ended up with
the loss.
Wth the win Kansas City now has a record of 49-57. Buck Showalter was unhappy
with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he said.

36,918 fans watched an exciting game at Fenway Park. The Boston Red Sox
topped the Cleveland Indians by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Boston won the hard
fought contest in the 10th inning. Jackie Bradley Jr blasted a solo shot
making Boston the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.
Cleveland had 9 hits in the game while Boston had 6, but Boston had the more
timely hits.
Fernando Abad(4-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Andrew
Miller(7-2) was given the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning giving

Jose Abreu went yard and had 3 RBI as the Chicago (AL) White Sox defeated the

runner on 2 base hits. Tim Anderson hit a single. Anderson then stole
second base. Two outs later Avisail Garcia stepped in and he slapped a
