First baseman Freddie Freeman left the yard as the Atlanta Braves defeated the
Philadelphia Phillies in 12 innings 3 to 2 at Citizens Bank Park.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Atlanta ended up
winning it in the 12th inning. After an out was recorded, Matt Kemp stroked
a base-hit, and an error was also committed. Nick Markakis was next and he
ripped a single scoring the run. Overall Atlanta out-hit Philadelphia 12 to
7.
Jose Ramirez(4-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Ramirez got relief help from Arodys Vizcaino who gained credit for
his 7th save. Hector Neris(4-4) was hit with the loss in relief.

In an entertaining game at Camden Yards the final score was the Baltimore
Orioles 4, the Kansas City Royals 1.
Baltimore wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Manny Machado kicked off
the action when he lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'. Jonathan Schoop next to
the plate and he clubbed a solo home run. That was all the runs Kevin
Gausman(10-13) needed. Baltimore had a total of 7 hits for the game.
Gausman got help from Darren O'Day who earned his 6th save. Sam
Gaviglio(6-11) was charged with the loss. Baltimore, who had been struggling
lately, moved their record to 38-67. They are now 1-9 in their last ten
games. Kansas City has a record of 48-57 after the loss.
