In a close game it was the Toronto Blue Jays 3, the Boston Red Sox 1 at Fenway
Park.
Toronto won the game with a rally in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 4
hits. After an out was recorded, Justin Smoak was the sparkplug when he hit
a bases-empty home run. Troy Tulowitzki followed and he slapped a single.
Russell Martin was a strikeout victim, unable to help out. Ezequiel Carrera
followed next and he singled. Ryan Goins came up to bat and stroked a
base-hit to load the bases. Kevin Pillar extended the rally and was hit by a
pitch scoring the final run of the inning. Roberto Osuna was great in relief
and recorded his 24th save.
Dominic Leone(5-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2/3 of an
inning. Rick Porcello(3-4) was charged with the loss. He pitched 8 and 2/3
innings allowing 9 hits and 1 walk.

batters at Great American Bpk as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Cincinnati
Reds 6 to 3.
Delgado(6-4) gave Arizona a solid outing. He surrendered 5 hits and 1 walk in
7 innings. Arizona out-hit Cincinnati for the game, 11 hits to 8.
Sal Romano(5-13) was the loser. Bryan Price was impressed with Delgado and
his 12 strikeouts. 'It's tough to generate runs if you can't make contact
with the ball.'
