Robbie Ray reeled off a total of 12 strikeouts as the Arizona Diamondbacks
defeated the Atlanta Braves 4 to 3 at SunTrust Park.
Ray(8-7) pitched a solid game. He went 7 innings and surrended up 7 hits and
4 walks and surrendered 3 'long-bombs'. Atlanta tried unsuccessfully to come
back in the 9th.
Fernando Rodney recorded the save, his 34th. Sean Newcomb(5-7) was hit with
the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 7 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.
Ray was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd
when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running
tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange -
but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'

Adam Jones had 2 base hits at Camden Yards where the Baltimore Orioles beat

The game was won by Baltimore with a run in the bottom of the 8th inning. Tim
Beckham clubbed a solo home run. Both teams finished the game with 7 hits.
Donnie Hart(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
no runs. Hart got help from Brad Brach who earned his 7th save. Koji

Erasmo Ramirez had an impressive outing at Guaranteed Rate Fld as the Seattle
Mariners beat the Chicago (AL) White Sox in 10 innings by the count of 3 to
1.
The game was a scoreless tie after nine. Seattle came out on top in the 10th
inning. Nelson Cruz led off and got things going when he reached on an
error. After an out was recorded, Yonder Alonso came to bat and clubbed a
two-run home run. Mitch Haniger then tripled. Jarrod Dyson came up and he
ripped a single scoring the final run of the inning. Seattle had only 5 hits
for the afternoon.
Casey Lawrence(1-1) got the win allowing no runs in 2 innings. Edwin Diaz
gained credit for his 27th save. The losing pitcher was Reynaldo Lopez(4-9).
He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 5 hits and 1 walk in 9 and
1/3 innings.
