Win:Hendricks(12-7) Loss:Bundy(6-10)
Homeruns- K.Schwarber(18th), J.Schoop(13th), T.Mancini(5th)
Kyle Hendricks mowed down 11 Baltimore batters and Kyle Schwarber lofted one
into the 'cheap seats' as the Chicago (NL) Cubs outscored the Baltimore
Orioles 8 to 3.
Hendricks(12-7) put on a good performance. He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 7 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings and was touched for 2 homeruns.
Chicago (NL) had 12 hits for the night.
Dylan Bundy(6-10) suffered the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 7 hits
and 4 walks in 4 and 1/3 innings. Hendricks was humble when questioned about
his performance, 'Well, I felt pretty confident in my pitches tonight. But,
I had great support behind me and I just threw what was called. That was an
extremely well called game!'

White Sox....... 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 3 - 5 14 3
Win:Paxton(12-4) Loss:Giolito(9-10) Save:Phelps(1st)
Homeruns- B.Gamel(9th), R.Cano(10th), M.Haniger(10th), M.Davidson-2(20th)
James Paxton racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts at Guaranteed Rate
Fld as the Seattle Mariners beat the Chicago (AL) White Sox 7 to
5.
Paxton(12-4) pitched well for Seattle in their victory. He surrendered 10
hits and 1 walk in 8 innings. Chicago (AL) made it exciting in the 9th, but
they were unable to push the needed runs across.
David Phelps preserved the game for Paxton, recording his his 1st save. Lucas
Giolito(9-10) was the loser. He allowed 3 homeruns in 6 and 2/3 innings of
work.
Paxton was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd
when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running
tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange -
but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'
