Francisco Lindor had 2 base hits as the Cleveland Indians defeated the Texas
Rangers by the score of 3 to 2 at Progressive Field.
Texas fell behind quickly as the Cleveland offense came through in the first
inning when they scored 2 runs on 2 hits. The big moment was provided by
Jose Ramirez who made the crowd come alive when he lifted one out of the park
for a two run home run. Texas made it exciting in the 9th, but they were
unable to push the needed runs across.
Carlos Carrasco(6-12) got the win allowing 1 run in 6 and 2/3 innings. Cody
Allen preserved the game for Carrasco, recording his his 23rd save. Cole
Hamels(8-8) was hit with the loss.
Wth the win Cleveland now has a record of a division leading 45-35. With the

Houston Astros topped the Oakland Athletics by a score of 13 to 6 at Minute
Maid Park.
Houston took the lead off Daniel Mengden in the first inning as they scored 5
runs on 6 base hits. The big moment was provided by Yuli Gurriel who brought
the crowd to their feet when he belted a three-run homer. Oakland was
out-hit by Houston, 17 hits to 7.
The win was credited to Dallas Keuchel(9-3) who went 5 and 2/3 innings
allowing 5 runs. Keuchel got help from Francisco Liriano who was credited
with his 1st save. Mengden(3-13) took the loss. He pitched 2/3 of an inning
allowing 5 hits and no walks.
It was another victory for Houston at Minute Maid Park. Now their winning
streak stands at 7 games.
