Scooter Gennett had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Luis Castillo held Milwaukee
scoreless on just 3 hits as the Cincinnati Reds really laid it on the
Milwaukee Brewers 18 to 0.
Gennett enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He smashed a two-run homer in
the 1st inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 5th inning, tripled plating a
run in the 7th inning and delivered a single bringing in a run in the 8th
inning. Cincinnati provided plenty of action in the 4th inning when they had
4 runs on 4 hits and the 5th inning which saw them plate 4 runs on 5 hits.
Cincinnati had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in 6
separate innings.
It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Castillo(11-5). Jimmy Nelson(6-6) took
the loss. He gave up 4 hits and 2 walks in 1 and 2/3 innings.
