Boston had 4 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning with the

thrilled the crowd when he tripled plating all three baserunners. Los
Angeles(AL) made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the
needed runs across.
David Price(8-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 4 runs. Price got help from Craig Kimbrel who was credited with his
32nd save. Matt Shoemaker(2-5) was charged with the loss. He was unable to
control the Boston offense and allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3
innings.
John Farrell was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we
could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
