Arizona wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 3 runners
on 4 hits. Colorado had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up
short.
Robbie Ray(7-5) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Fernando Rodney got the save, his 28th. Jon Gray(5-6) ended
up with the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 5 innings.

Broxton helped send the fans home happy. He rifled a three-run blast in the

Max Kepler cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Target Field where the
Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago (AL) White Sox 7 to 2.
Kepler enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in
the 2nd inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 4th inning. Minnesota
had a total of 10 hits for the game.
The winning pitcher was Adalberto Mejia(6-5) who allowed 2 runs in 5 and 2/3
innings. Tyler Duffey was credited with his 4th save. The loss was charged
to Lucas Giolito(7-8). He was touched for 6 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3
innings.

Carlos Correa jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI as the Houston
Astros bested the Oakland Athletics 5 to 4 at Oakland Coliseum.
The game was decided in the top of the 9th inning. Alex Bregman drew a walk.
George Springer was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. After
another out, Jose Altuve then stroked a single scoring the run. Altuve took
second on the throw. The Oakland batters went down meekly in the bottom of
the 9th.
James Hoyt(3-1) went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Chris
Devenski preserved the game for Hoyt, recording his his 8th save. Andrew
Triggs(7-4) suffered the loss.
Houston now has a record of a division leading 49-26. Bob Melvin was pretty
down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering along lately, something
like 2-8 in the last week or two. That won't get it done.'
