Freddie Freeman smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Atlanta Braves
defeated the slumping San Francisco Giants by the score of 6 to 3 at SunTrust
Park.
Freeman had a good evening at the plate. He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st
inning and blasted a solo shot in the 7th inning. Jim Johnson pitched a
perfect ninth to earn his 9th save.
Luiz Gohara(4-8) allowed 3 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Chris Stratton(2-8) was the loser. He got hit pretty hard, allowing

complete game as the Baltimore Orioles topped the Cleveland Indians by a

Jordan Lyles(3-2), with relief help from Jose Torres, handcuffed the Chicago
(NL) Cubs batters at Wrigley Field in an evening game. The San Diego Padres
scored 5 runs for the win.
San Diego scored all of the necessary runs in the 7th inning when they tallied
5 runs on 5 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Wil Myers who
disappointed the partisan crowd when he cleared the fences for a two-run home
run. San Diego banged out 7 hits on the night.

Brandon Drury had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Zack Godley racked up an impressive
total of 10 strikeouts as the red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks really laid it on
the Colorado Rockies in 11 innings 17 to 6.
Both teams had scored 6 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Arizona
prevailed in the 11th inning. The critical plate appearance was by David
Peralta who disappointed the partisan crowd when he belted a three-run homer.
Arizona bats were hot in the 11th inning when they had 11 runs on 6 hits.
