German Marquez tossed a complete game and third baseman Nolan Arenado hit one
over the fence and had 2 RBI as the Colorado Rockies bested the floundering
San Francisco Giants 9 to 1 at Coors Field.
Marquez(8-3) pitched a fine game. He surrendered 8 hits and 2 walks in 9
innings. Colorado had 10 hits for the night. Chris Stratton(2-7) was given
the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 6 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Cobb earned his pay with a solid performance for Tampa Bay. He went 6 innings
allowing 4 hits and 1 walk seeing his ERA drop from 4.99 to 4.77. The
pitchers took over after the 2nd inning as neither team was able to score
again.

Brad Peacock racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts and Evan Gattis
left the yard and had 2 RBI at Minute Maid Park as the Houston Astros beat
the Boston Red Sox 4 to 2.
Peacock(9-3) was in control of the game from the outset. He was stingy on the
mound, allowing just 4 hits and 1 walk in 8 and 2/3 innings. Houston and
Boston each finished the night with 4 hits.
Peacock got help from Ken Giles who earned his 19th save. David Price(6-4)
absorbed the loss. The Houston fans were thrilled by the performance put
forth by Peacock, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they enjoyed most.
'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their appreciation with a
loud cheer.' A.J. Hinch said following the game.

In a close game the Kansas City Royals got by the Los Angeles(AL) Angels by
the score of 7 to 5.
Kansas City brought 3 runs across the plate in the 5th inning when they had 3
base hits. They would be enough to earn the win. Los Angeles(AL) made it
exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Danny Duffy(5-6) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. The loss
was charged to Matt Shoemaker(2-4). He gave up 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings
of work.
Mike Scioscia was in a sour mood after the game. 'Even you guys up in the
