The Miami Marlins had an easy time of it at Marlins Park defeating the Oakland

Giancarlo Stanton had a big day at the plate. He lined a one-base hit plating
a run in the 7th inning and clubbed a three-run home run in the 8th inning.

Asher Wojciechowski went 7 solid innings as the Cincinnati Reds bested the San
Diego Padres 2 to 1 at PETCO Park.
Wojciechowski(4-0) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He allowed only 4
hits and no walks in 7 innings. Wojciechowski whiffed an impressive total of
9 San Diego batters reducing his ERA from 5.40 to 4.89. Neither team managed
to score after the 4th inning.
Wojciechowski got relief help from Raisel Iglesias who gained credit for his
18th save. Clayton Richard(3-10) was the losing pitcher. He was the victim
of a defensive lapse and did not allow an earned run in the game.

At AT&T Park, the San Francisco faithful were treated to an intriguing
pitcher's duel. Jake Junis(5-7) finally bested his San Francisco
counterpart, Madison Bumgarner(6-10), by the score of 2 to 1.
Kansas City had 1 run cross the plate in the 6th inning. San Francisco tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.
Scott Alexander recorded his 3rd save. Bumgarner took the loss. He gave up 3
hits and 3 walks in 5 innings. 'Just one or two mistakes were all it took to
beat us today' Bruce Bochy said. 'We take these games one day at a time, but
this one was hard to take.'

17,673 fans watched an exciting game at Nationals Park. The Atlanta Braves
topped the Washington Nationals by the slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.
The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Atlanta was victorious in the
11th inning. Matt Kemp led off and keyed the rally when he stroked a
base-hit. Nick Markakis stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk. Tyler
Flowers then belted a three-run homer. Both teams finished the game with 12
hits.
Jim Johnson(4-4) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 2 innings. Jose Ramirez
gained credit for his 3rd save. Ryan Madson(2-1) was hit with the loss in
relief.
The Atlanta ballclub's record now stands at 28-38. With the loss, Washington
