Charlie Morton whiffed 11 batters at Minute Maid Park as the Houston Astros
beat the Texas Rangers 4 to 3.
Morton(8-2) delivered a fine performance for Houston. He went 7 innings
surrendering 3 hits and 3 walks. Overall Houston out-hit Texas 8 to 4.
Ken Giles was credited with his 18th save. Austin Bibens-Dirkx(2-7) was the
loser. Everyone seemed to enjoy the performance of Morton - except Texas.
Jeff Bannister lamented, 'He just was 'on' tonight. He was keeping our guys
off balance all game. A fine game by a good strikeout pitcher - makes it a
fun game for the hometown fans - unfortunately we were the visitors!'
