The hometown crowd was rewarded with a dramatic ending, as the Atlanta Braves
staged a comeback win over the Philadelphia Phillies by the count of 3 to
2.
Atlanta had the game winning rally in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 2 base hits. Jace Peterson led off the inning for Atlanta when he
ripped a single. Peterson got a good lead and stole second. Matt Adams then
popped a two-run clout over the fence making Atlanta victorious to the
delight of the the home town crowd. Atlanta had 8 hits for the night while
Philadelphia had 5.
The victory went to Jim Johnson(3-4) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.
Hector Neris(2-3) took the loss in relief. Brian Snitker was all smiles
after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim there for a while, but
our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans - they kept cheering us on.
What a sweet win!'

Javier Baez hit a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Chicago (NL) Cubs defeated the
Miami Marlins 7 to 4 at Wrigley Field.
Baez helped send the fans home happy. He stroked a one-base hit scoring two
baserunners in the 1st inning, clubbed a two-run home run in the 3rd inning
and doubled in the 8th inning. Wade Davis, after tossing a perfect ninth,
was credited with his 15th save.
The victory was credited to Jake Arrieta(1-7) who went 6 innings, allowing 4
runs. Justin Nicolino(0-5) absorbed the loss. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 4 runs in 2 innings.

First baseman Matt Carpenter cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the St. Louis
Cardinals defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 13 to 4 at Great
American Bpk.
Carpenter led the offense for St. Louis. He ripped a solo home run in the 3rd
inning, lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 8th inning and smacked a single
resulting in a run in the 9th inning. St. Louis dominated offensively as
they scored in 6 different innings.
The winning pitcher was Lance Lynn(4-4) who allowed 4 runs in 8 and 1/3
innings. Luis Castillo(7-5) ended up with the loss. He was knocked around by
St. Louis, allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Wth the win St. Louis now has a record of a division leading 37-20. With the
