Left fielder Andrew Benintendi lofted one into the 'cheap seats' as the very
strong Boston Red Sox defeated the Seattle Mariners 4 to 2 at Fenway
Park.
Boston went ahead for good in the 4th inning scoring one runner utilizing 2
base hits. Boston ended up with 12 hits for the game while Seattle had 5.
Drew Pomeranz(7-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Matt Barnes recorded his 3rd save. James Paxton(5-3) was
hit with the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits
and 2 walks in 6 innings.
Boston continued their winnings ways improving their record to a division
leading 38-11. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With this loss,
Seattle has a 5-5 record of late, 26-24 overall.

(AL) White Sox beat the Detroit Tigers 6 to 1.

the help of 4 hits. The big moment was provided by Abreu who brought the

Melky Cabrera left the yard at Progressive Field as the Kansas City Royals
beat the Cleveland Indians 2 to 1.
Kansas City came up with 1 run in the top of the 6th inning when they came up
