Chris Sale struck out 13 batters and Dustin Pedroia had 4 hits at Busch
Stadium as the Boston Red Sox beat the St. Louis Cardinals 8 to 0.
Sale(9-2) contributed a very nicely pitched game. He was stingy on the mound,
allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 2/3 innings. Boston out-hit St.
Louis for the game, 11 hits to 4.
Matt Barnes was credited with his 2nd save. Luke Weaver(3-1) took the loss.
Mike Matheny was impressed with Sale and his 13 strikeouts. 'It's tough to
generate runs if you can't make contact with the ball.'

Adrian Beltre went deep and had 3 RBI and Andrew Cashner allowed Jeff
Bannister to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Globe Life Park as
the Texas Rangers beat the Philadelphia Phillies 12 to 3.
Beltre made sure the Texas fans enjoyed themselves. He lined a one-base hit
in the 1st inning, ripped a base-knock in the 5th inning and lofted a
three-run 'big-fly' in the 6th inning. Texas finished with 15 hits in the
victory.
Cashner(2-5) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Jerad
Eickhoff(2-5) took the loss. Texas knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 7
runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Jake Junis came through with a solid 8 innings as the Kansas City Royals
topped the New York (AL) Yankees by a score of 1 to 0 at Kauffman
Stadium.
The game's lone run was scored in the bottom of the 3rd inning. That scoring
would be all that was needed. Kansas City had 9 hits overall, while New York
(AL) had 3.
Junis(3-4) allowed no runs in 8 innings, and picked up the victory. Junis got
relief help from Mike Minor who gained credit for his 3rd save. Luis
Severino(5-4) was the losing pitcher.
