In a close game it was the Milwaukee Brewers 3, the San Diego Padres 1 at
PETCO Park.
Jacob Barnes(2-2) was solid in relief, and he got credit for the win. He
surrendered no hits and 1 walk in 1 and 1/3 innings dropping his ERA from
4.50 to 4.19. Milwaukee had 9 hits for the game and San Diego had 5.
Barnes got help from Corey Knebel who was credited with his 10th save. The
losing pitcher was Phil Maton(0-3) in relief.

Robinson Cano lofted one into the 'cheap seats' and scored 3 times as the
Seattle Mariners outscored the Oakland Athletics 8 to 2.
Seattle claimed the early lead in the first inning as they scored 3 runs on 4
base hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Felix Hernandez(4-3)
and Seattle. That was all the run support Hernandez required. Seattle had 8
hits for the night.
Edwin Diaz earned the save, his 11th. The loss was charged to Kendall
Graveman(0-3). Despite losing, he struckout 11 Seattle batters in 7 innings.
Wth the win Seattle now has a record of 21-19. Oakland has a record of 16-24,

One run was the difference at AT&T Park as the San Francisco Giants defeated
the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers 3 to 2.
San Francisco went ahead for good in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring a
single run using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Brandon Crawford drew a
walk. Kelby Tomlinson came next and he singled. Joe Panik then delivered a
base-hit scoring the run. Los Angeles(NL) tried unsuccessfully to come back
in the 9th.
The win went to Madison Bumgarner(4-6) who allowed 1 run in 6 innings. Mark
Melancon recorded the save, his 6th. Rich Hill(5-2) was given the loss. He
surrendered 3 runs and 7 hits in 5 innings.
'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Dave Roberts said. 'We did
what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
