The Colorado Rockies nipped the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers 4 to 3 at Coors Field
in a hard fought contest.
German Marquez(3-2) gave a fine effort for Colorado. He went 8 innings
allowing 5 hits and 4 walks. Los Angeles(NL) had a chance in the 9th but
they came up short.
Greg Holland preserved the game for Marquez, recording his his 8th save.
Clayton Kershaw(4-3) was the loser. 'We just made a lot of mistakes, mostly
mental,' Dave Roberts said. 'It's bad enough when the other team beats you,
but when you start beating yourselves, that's really bad.'

Mark Trumbo had 5 hits at Kauffman Stadium as the Baltimore Orioles beat the
Kansas City Royals in 15 innings 8 to 7.
Both teams had scored 7 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Baltimore
prevailed in the 15th inning. After an out was recorded, Jonathan Schoop
stroked a base-hit. Caleb Joseph came next and he doubled. Seth Smith then
lashed a single scoring the run. Baltimore finished with 19 hits while
Kansas City ended up with 12.
The winning pitcher was Darren O'Day(2-2) who allowed no runs in 3 and 1/3
innings. Ryan Buchter(0-3) was given the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run
