pitcher's duel. Ty Blach(1-3) finally bested his New York (NL) counterpart,
Jacob Degrom(8-1), by the score of 2 to 1.
Blach pitched well for San Francisco in their victory. He surrendered 5 hits
and 1 walk in 8 innings. Mark Melancon came throught with a perfect ninth
inning to earn his 4th save.
Degrom was tagged with the loss. He pitched 7 and 2/3 innings allowing only 2
hits and 1 walk.

At Oakland Coliseum the Los Angeles(AL) Angels easily handled the Oakland
Athletics by the score of 5 to 1.
Oakland was unable to recover after Los Angeles(AL) went ahead in the top of
the 3rd inning scoring 2 runners on 2 hits. That scoring would be all that
was needed. For the game Los Angeles(AL) out-hit Oakland 9 to 5.
J.C. Ramirez(2-2) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Blake Wood preserved the game for Ramirez, recording his his 1st save. Sean
Manaea(3-2) was hit with the loss.

Yonder Alonso launched 2 homeruns and scored 3 times as the Seattle Mariners
topped the Philadelphia Phillies in 14 innings by a score of 8 to 7 at
Citizens Bank Park.
Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Seattle came out on
top in the 14th inning. Alonso blasted a solo shot. Seattle finished with
16 hits in the victory.
Nick Vincent(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing
no runs. Vincent was helped out by Emilio Pagan who recorded his 1st save.
Ricardo Pinto(1-1) took the loss in relief. He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk
in 1 inning.
The winning ways continue for Seattle. They now have a record of 8-2 in
recent days. With this loss, Philadelphia has a 4-6 record of late, 13-19
