At SunTrust Park the St. Louis Cardinals outscored the Atlanta Braves 6 to
3.
St. Louis drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
when they came up with 2 runs on 1 hit. The big moment was provided by Jedd
Gyorko who silenced SunTrust Park as he tripled bringing in two baserunners.
St. Louis had 9 hits for the afternoon while Atlanta had 6.
The win went to Lance Lynn(2-2) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings. Lynn got
relief help from Samuel Tuivailala who gained credit for his 3rd save. Sean
Newcomb(2-2) suffered the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up
5 runs in 3 innings.

Mike Pelfrey(1-2) and Kevin Gausman(2-4) treated the Baltimore fans to a fine
pitching duel at Camden Yards. The Chicago (AL) White Sox eventually emerged
as victors over the Baltimore Orioles by the score of 3 to 1.
Baltimore never recovered after Chicago (AL) took the lead in the 2nd inning
plating an isolated run utilizing 2 base hits. Baltimore made it exciting in
the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.
Pelfrey got help from Juan Minaya who earned his 4th save.

Center fielder Denard Span had 2 base hits at Great American Bpk as the San
Francisco Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds by the count of 6 to 5.
The game was decided in the top of the 8th inning. After two outs Jarrett
Parker smashed a solo-shot out of the park. Cincinnati had a chance to come
back in the 9th but they came up short.
The win was credited to Sam Dyson(2-1) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Mark Melancon preserved the game for Dyson, recording his his 3rd save.
Wandy Peralta(1-2) took the loss in relief.
Bryan Price was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'

Greg Holland was strong in relief for Colorado at Coors Field where the
Colorado Rockies beat the Arizona Diamondbacks by the score of 8 to
6.
Colorado brought 3 runs across the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning. The
key at-bat was by Trevor Story who electrified Coors Field when he belted a
three-run homer. Holland came throught with a perfect ninth inning to earn
his 7th save.
Adam Ottavino(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. David
Hernandez(2-1) was charged with the loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning
giving up 3 hits and 1 walk.
