Cleveland erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 8th inning when they came up with 4 runs on 6 hits. The biggest moment was provided by Roberto Perez who quieted the home crowd when he bombed a two-run dinger. Kansas City made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across. The victory went to Bryan Shaw(2-1) who went 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing no runs. Shaw got relief help from Cody Allen who gained credit for his 12th save. Mike Minor(2-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.
