Reds topped the Pittsburgh Pirates by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.
The score was tied at 3 after nine. Cincinnati came out on top in the 11th
inning. Adam Duvall reached on an error. Scooter Gennett stepped up next
and he lashed a single. After an out was recorded, Scott Schebler then
smacked a single giving Cincinnati the win and sending the home town fans
into a frenzy. Cincinnati won despite being out-hit by Pittsburgh 11 hits to
8.
The winning pitcher was Drew Storen(3-0) who allowed no runs in 1/3 of an
inning. Felipe Rivero(0-2) was the loser in relief. He allowed 2 hits and no

Third baseman Jose Ramirez had 3 base hits as the Cleveland Indians bested the
Detroit Tigers 5 to 3 at Comerica Park.
Cleveland went ahead for good in the top of the 6th inning plating an isolated
run. Ramirez doubled. Two outs later Chad Bell stepped in and he was wild
with a pitch scoring the run. Cleveland had 12 hits for the afternoon while
Detroit had 8.
Joe Smith(1-0) allowed no runs in 3 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Smith was helped out by Cody Allen who recorded his 11th save.
Jordan Zimmermann(0-4) ended up with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 8 hits
