Charlie Blackmon slammed 2 homeruns at Coors Field as the Washington Nationals
lost a heartbreaker to Colorado Rockies by the score of 4 to 3.
The game was won by Colorado with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
Nolan Arenado tripled. One out later, Mark Reynolds was next to the plate,
but was promptly struck out. Gerardo Parra then lined a base-hit. Trevor
Story was up next and he delivered a single giving Colorado the victory as
32,133 happy fans celebrated wildly. Both teams ended up with 7 hits on the
afternoon.
Greg Holland(1-2) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory.
Brandon Kintzler(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 3 hits

The Miami Marlins had an easy time of it at Citizens Bank Park defeating the
Philadelphia Phillies by a score of 9 to 4.
Miami brought 4 runs across the plate in the 3rd inning when they came up with
5 base hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Giancarlo Stanton who
quieted the crowd when he clubbed a two-run home run. Miami had 12 hits for
the game and Philadelphia had 8.
Edinson Volquez(1-1) allowed 3 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory.
Volquez was helped out by Brian Ellington who recorded his 1st save. Jerad
