Zack Godley(3-1) and Jordan Lyles(1-2) treated the Arizona fans to a fine
pitching duel at Chase Field. The Arizona Diamondbacks eventually emerged as
victors over the San Diego Padres by the score of 2 to 0.
Arizona went ahead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning scoring one runner
using 2 hits. Both teams finished the game with 6 hits.
Godley got help from Fernando Rodney who earned his 10th save.

In a close game it was the Tampa Bay Rays 5, the Baltimore Orioles 3 at Camden
Yards.
Tampa Bay scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning with 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Evan Longoria initiated
the scoring spurt when he doubled. Logan Morrison was next and he reached on
an error. Wilson Ramos then doubled bringing in two baserunners. Tampa Bay
had 14 hits overall, while Baltimore had 6.
Alex Colome(1-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Richard
Bleier(0-1) was the loser in relief. He pitched 2 and 1/3 innings giving up
5 hits and no walks.

In the 6th inning Colorado scored 2 runs. The highlight belonged to Lucroy
who electrified Coors Field when he popped a two-run clout over the fence.
Washington threatened in the 9th but Colorado was able to put down the rally.
Pat Neshek(1-0) went 1 inning allowing 1 run for the win. Greg Holland got the
save, his 5th. Joe Ross(0-1) absorbed the loss. 'We lose our concentration
for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Dusty Baker said after the game.
'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say they have to concentrate on
