Cole Hamels(3-0) pitched well for Texas in their victory. He went 6 and 1/3

Alex Claudio preserved the game for Hamels, recording his his 2nd save. The

Marcell Ozuna launched 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Jose Urena blanked Seattle
in a very well-pitched complete game at SAFECO Field as the Miami Marlins
belted the Seattle Mariners by the count of 12 to 0.
Ozuna led the offense for Miami. He smacked a three-run homer in the 7th
inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 8th inning. Miami managed
19 hits in their victory.
For Urena(3-0) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Ariel Miranda(1-1) suffered

First baseman Matt Carpenter ripped 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI at Busch Stadium
where the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 10
to 5.
Carpenter had a great evening at the plate. He doubled in the 3rd inning,
cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 5th inning, stroked a single
scoring a run in the 6th inning and delivered a solo blast in the 8th inning.
Pittsburgh had 15 hits in the game while St. Louis had 12, but St. Louis had
the more timely hits.
Carlos Martinez(3-0) was the winner allowing 4 runs in 5 innings. Chad
Kuhl(0-2) took the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 4 innings.
'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Carpenter said
'next time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
