MINNESOTA AT TEXAS
Twins........... 0 0 0 2 0 3 3 0 0 - 8 11 0
Rangers......... 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 - 1 6 2
Win:Butcher(4-6) Loss:Noles(4-8)
Homeruns- K.Hrbek-2(4th), T.Brunansky(13th)
First baseman Kent Hrbek slammed 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI at Arlington Stadium
as the Minnesota Twins beat the struggling Texas Rangers 8 to 1.
Hrbek was unconscious out there. While Texas pitching was serving softballs
up there for him to hit, the Texas fans were serving up some hardball barbs
when he entered the batter's box. But he just used it as fuel for the fire.
He tripled knocking in a run in the 4th inning, cracked a two-run shot in the
6th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 7th inning. Overall Minnesota
out-hit Texas 11 to 6.
John Butcher(4-6) was the winner allowing 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. Dickie
Noles(4-8) ended up with the loss. 'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable
at the plate tonight' Hrbek said after the game. 'Despite that, I'm happy
with the results!
