Jackson had a big day against Detroit. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 2nd inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 8th inning. California had a total of 13 hits for the game. For Sutton(6-3) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Walt Terrell(3-6) was hit with the loss. He was not very effective, surrendering 9 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings.
