Jamie Easterly(3-8) gave a fine effort for Cleveland. He went 7 and 2/3
innings allowing 6 hits and 3 walks and surrendered 2 'round-trippers'.
Cleveland had 9 hits for the night.
Tom Waddell was credited with his 3rd save. Teddy Higuera(3-7) was given the
loss. Wth the win Cleveland now has a record of 19-26. Milwaukee can't seem
to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a miserable 2-8 record
over the last couple weeks.

First baseman Darrell Evans cracked 3 homeruns at Tiger Stadium as the Detroit
Tigers beat the Oakland Athletics by the count of 13 to 7.
Evans was spectacular at the plate. He emptied the bases with a Grand Slam
homerun in the 1st inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 6th inning and
ripped a solo home run in the 8th inning. Detroit won despite being out-hit
by Oakland 15 hits to 12.
The win went to Frank Tanana(7-6) who allowed 7 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was Bill Krueger(1-4). 'I was really seeing the ball
tonight,' Evans said 'I wish it was always this easy.'

In a game for the baseball purist, Mike Moore(5-7) and Mike Boddicker(7-2)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, Seattle Mariners finally emerged
victorious over Baltimore Orioles, 2 to 1.
Baltimore was unable to climb back into it after Seattle went ahead for good
in the top of the 2nd inning plating an isolated run. Baltimore threatened
in the 9th but their rally came up short.
Ed Nunez got the save, his 7th. 'Ahhh, that victory was surely needed. Man
alive, things were getting awfully grim,' noted Chuck Cottier. 'Now, we need
to string a bunch of wins together and turn things around!'
