In a game at Metrodome the Toronto Blue Jays got by the Minnesota Twins by the
score of 5 to 2.
Toronto scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning. That early run support was enough
for Dennis Lamp(4-3) and Toronto. Tom Henke was perfect in relief and gained
credit for his 6th save.
John Butcher(2-3) was the losing pitcher. Toronto now has a record of 18-15.
Minnesota can't seem to snap out of their recent 'funk'. Now they have a
miserable 2-8 record over the last couple weeks.

Rick Sutcliffe launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and he went 9 solid innings
as the Chicago (NL) Cubs topped the Atlanta Braves by a score of 8 to 1 at
Fulton Co Stadium.
Sutcliffe enjoyed a fine day at the plate. He popped a two-run clout over the
fence in the 2nd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and blasted a solo shot in
the 9th inning. Chicago (NL) rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Sutcliffe(7-1) who went the distance, allowing 1
run. Len Barker(0-3) took the loss. He allowed Chicago (NL) 6 runs in 4 and

Dave Concepcion hit 2 doubles and had 2 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds bested the
Pittsburgh Pirates 7 to 4 at Three Rivers Stadium.
Mario Soto(5-3) gave a fine effort for Cincinnati. He allowed 8 hits and 8
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. Soto mowed down 8 Pittsburgh batters.
Cincinnati ended up with 14 hits for the game while Pittsburgh had 10.
Ted Power earned the save, his 3rd. Bob Walk(0-6) took the loss. He was hit
hard and gave up 11 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.
