John Candelaria(2-2) and Doyle Alexander(4-3) dueled it out with Candelaria
and the California Angels coming out on top of the Toronto Blue Jays by the
score of 3 to 0.
Candelaria was in control of the game from the outset. He allowed only 5 hits
and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings. Candelaria recorded 8 strikeouts dropping
his ERA from 3.45 to 2.94. Overall California out-hit Toronto 10 to 5.
Donnie Moore earned his 5th save. The winning ways continue for California.

In a dramatic ending, the streaking Baltimore Orioles staged a comeback win
over the floundering Kansas City Royals by the count of 5 to 4.
Baltimore won the game with a rally in the 9th inning plating 3 runs using 2
hits. Fred Lynn opened up the scoring as he smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly'.
Two outs later Wayne Gross stepped in and he drew a walk. Jim Dwyer then
bombed a two-run dinger making Baltimore victorious to the delight of the the
home town crowd. Baltimore won despite being out-hit by Kansas City 12 hits
to 7.
Nate Snell(4-0) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 1 and 2/3 innings.
Bret Saberhagen(1-6) took the loss. He surrendered 7 hits and 2 walks in 8
and 2/3 innings.
Baltimore continued their winnings ways improving their record to a division
leading 23-7. They are 10-0 in their last ten games. Dick Howser was
unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing games' he
said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'

Dave Kingman smacked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Chris Codiroli allowed
Jackie Moore to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Oakland
Athletics topped the Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 7 to 2 at County
Stadium.
Kingman had a big day against Milwaukee. He lifted one out of the park for a
two run home run in the 1st inning and smashed a two-run homer in the 5th
inning. Oakland banged out 10 hits on the night.
The win went to Codiroli(3-3) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Teddy
Higuera(3-4) ended up with the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 9
