The score was tied at 1 after nine. Oakland came out the victor in the 10th inning. Dusty Baker delivered a one-base hit. Dwayne Murphy was next and he was hit by a pitch. After an out was recorded, Mickey Tettleton then doubled giving Oakland the victory and sending the 23,976 home-town fans home happy. The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
