The Oakland Athletics edged the California Angels in 10 innings at Oakland Co
Stadium by the score of 2 to 1.
The score was tied at 1 after nine. Oakland came out the victor in the 10th
inning. Dusty Baker delivered a one-base hit. Dwayne Murphy was next and he
was hit by a pitch. After an out was recorded, Mickey Tettleton then doubled
giving Oakland the victory and sending the 23,976 home-town fans home happy.
The game was a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
The win went to Keith Atherton(2-0) who allowed 1 run in 5 innings. Stew
Cliburn(0-2) took the loss in relief. He pitched 3 and 1/3 innings and

Steve Buechele smashed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Texas Rangers beat the
Milwaukee Brewers by a score of 10 to 2.
It was a good day for Texas thanks to Buechele. He delivered a solo blast in
the 2nd inning and lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 6th inning. The
Texas offense man-handled the Milwaukee pitching staff as they scored in 7 of
the 9 innings.
The win was credited to Dickie Noles(1-0) who went 8 innings allowing 2 runs.
Bob McClure(0-1) was the loser. Texas knocked him around a bit, as he gave
