TORONTO AT KANSAS CITY
Blue Jays....... 0 1 0 0 0 7 0 3 0 - 11 14 0
Royals.......... 0 0 1 1 2 1 0 1 0 - 6 13 1
Win:Alexander(1-0) Loss:Jackson(0-1)
Doyle Alexander was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and Jeff Burroughs had 4 hits and 3 RBI as the Toronto Blue
Jays beat the Kansas City Royals by a score of 11 to 6.
Burroughs enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He smacked a single in the 2nd
inning, slapped a one-base hit in the 5th inning, doubled scoring two
baserunners in the 6th inning and tripled scoring a run in the 8th inning.
Due to a poorly pitched ballgame, scoring in 5 different innings was still
not enough for Kansas City to come away with the victory.
The victory went to Alexander(1-0) who went the distance allowing 6 runs. The
losing pitcher was Danny Jackson(0-1). He pitched 5 innings giving up 6 hits
and 1 walk.
