Alex Johnson cracked 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at Crosley Field as the
Cincinnati Reds won a thriller over the Houston Astros in, 5 to 4.
The game was won by Cincinnati when they scored a run in the 9th inning.
After an out was recorded, Johnson ripped a solo home run making Cincinnati
the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Cincinnati totaled

In a wild and wooly game at Crosley Field, the Cincinnati Reds finally topped
the Houston Astros by the score of 14 to 10 in.
It was a good day for Cincinnati thanks to Pete Rose. He laced a base-hit in
the 4th inning, delivered a solo blast in the 5th inning and doubled bringing
in a run in the 7th inning. Cincinnati had many opportunities throughout the
game and scored in 6 separate innings.
The victory was credited to Al Jackson(3-4) who went 3 and 2/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Wayne Granger earned the save, his 17th. Jack
Billingham(11-7) was charged with the loss in relief. His ERA increased from
2.34 to 2.70 as he allowed 5 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
