Pittsburgh scored all of the necessary runs in the 1st inning scoring 4 runners on 4 hits. That early run support was enough for Moose(15-12) and Pittsburgh. Both teams' bats went to sleep after the 3rd inning with no runs scored after that point. Chuck Taylor(8-12) absorbed the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 8 hits in 7 innings. The deciding run was scored by San Diego in the bottom of the 9th. Ollie Brown hit a single. Nate Colbert next to the plate and he ripped a base-knock, and an error was also committed. Al Ferrara then drew a walk to load the bases. Spiezio followed next and he banged out a single giving San Diego the win as 2,749 happy fans joyfully celebrated. San Diego had 8 hits for the night. For Kelley(9-20) it was his 4th shutout this year. Jim Merritt(9-10) ended up with the loss. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk. Kelley was obviously very pleased with his performance in the aftermath of the game, 'It was just one of those games where everything worked.
