The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Boston was victorious in the 11th inning. Tom Satriano started the inning off right when he ripped a single. Two outs later Dick Schofield stepped up to the plate and he doubled which scored a run. Carl Yastrzemski then bombed a two-run dinger. Boston out-hit New York (AL) for the game, 12 hits to 6.
