The Minnesota Twins topped the dreadful California Angels by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2. The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Finally, Minnesota prevailed in the 11th inning. After two were out Rick Renick smashed a solo-shot out of the park. Both teams ended up with 8 hits on the afternoon. Ron Perranoski(6-7) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Joe Grzenda preserved the game for Perranoski, recording his his 2nd save. Bob Priddy(2-4) was the loser in relief.
