In a game for the baseball purist, Jim Shellenback(9-10) and Bob Miller(9-9)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, strong Washington Senators finally
emerged victorious over Minnesota Twins, 4 to 0.
Minnesota was unable to climb back into it after Washington went ahead for
good in the top of the 6th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits. For

Bill Hands completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Chicago
(NL) Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds 10 to 2 at Wrigley
Field.
Hands(19-10) earned his pay with a solid performance for Chicago (NL). He
