At Jarry Park the dreadful Montreal Expos were battered 8 to 3 by the San
Francisco Giants.
San Francisco started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half
of the first scoring 2 runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Ron
Hunt started the attack as he drew a walk. Bill Stoneman then picked Hunt
off first base. Willie Mays then ripped a single. Willie McCovey stepped in
and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run. San Francisco rapped out 7
hits for the night.
Ron Herbel(10-10) went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the victory. Ron
Kline got the save, his 4th. Stoneman(4-14) was the losing pitcher.
