Reggie Smith left the yard and had 3 RBI and Ray Culp tossed a complete game
as the Boston Red Sox bested the Kansas City Royals 6 to 2 at Municipal
Stadium.

as the Detroit Tigers topped the Oakland Athletics by a score of 8 to 4 at
Oakland Coliseum.
Oakland was unable to recover after Detroit went ahead in the 3rd inning
plating an isolated run on 2 base hits. Detroit rapped out 12 hits for the
night.
