by the count of 2 to 1.

after the game. 'It was a manager's nightmare out there', he said, 'We

PHILADELPHIA AT ATLANTA
Phillies........ 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 2 - 4 4 0
Braves.......... 1 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 - 2 5 2
Win:Fryman(12-14) Loss:Upshaw(7-5)
Homeruns- L.Hisle(17th), M.Pappas(3rd)
Woodie Fryman came through with a solid 9 innings and Larry Hisle lofted one
into the 'cheap seats' and had 2 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies topped the
Atlanta Braves by a score of 4 to 2 at Fulton Co. Stadium.
Philadelphia erupted with the game winning runs in the top of the 9th inning
scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. Johnny Callison led off and started
the rally when he reached on an error. Hisle stepped up next and he
delivered a single bringing in a run. Hisle was running on the next pitch
and he stole second. Cookie Rojas got his turn next, but he was a strikeout
victim. One out later, Don Money stepped up to the plate and he hit a
one-base hit scoring the final run of the inning. Philadelphia had just 4
hits for the night.
Fryman(12-14) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 2 runs. Cecil
Upshaw(7-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. He was a hard-luck loser as he
did not allow an earned run in his 3 and 2/3 innings of work.
'When Fryman is on like that it is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,'
Lum Harris said. 'He always pitches well against us.'
